About the author

Samuel Bolton

Born in London in 1606, Samuel Bolton became a scholar and member of the Westminster Assembly. He was educated at Manchester School and Christ’s College, Cambridge (BA 1629; MA 1632). He ministered successively in St. Martin’s, Ludgate Street, in St. Saviour’s, Southwark, and in St. Andrew’s, Holborn (all London parishes). Bolton was chosen one of the Westminster assembly of divines in 1643.
