About the author
Ebenezer Porter
Ebenezer Porter (1772-1834) had a distinguished career as a pastor, author, and seminary professor. Born in Connecticut, he graduated from Dartmouth College in 1792, and then studied theology at Bethlehem, CT. In 1796 he became pastor of the Congregational church at Washington, CT.
